Collection of Information
Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services, to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate our Services, to communicate with you about your use of our Services, and to administer your use of the Services (including your account, if you are an account holder).
If you create an account, we’ll collect certain personal information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, picture, email address, and phone number and your partner’s name, phone number and email. You can enter bill reminders, add your bank or financial account information, and text your partner. If you provide us with access to Third-Party Sites on your behalf, such as your bank account, we’ll be able to access your personal information and financial information maintained by such Third-Party Sites, including account numbers, account balances and payment information.
Your Communication with Us
We collect personal information from you such as email address, phone number, or mailing address when you request information about our Services or request customer service or technical support, or otherwise communicate with us (including participating in any applicable surveys we might send, contests or promotions, or through any public forums, blogs, or social media pages we may offer).
Information Collected Using Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Technologies
Like many website owners and operators, we (as well as third parties that provide content, advertising, or other functionality on our Services) may use automated data collection technologies, such as Cookies and Web Beacons, to collect certain information.
“Web Beacons” (also known as web bugs, pixel tags or clear GIFs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that may be included on our Services for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with Cookies, to track and measure the performance of our Services, to monitor how many visitors view our Services, and to monitor the effectiveness of our advertising. Unlike Cookies, which are stored on the user’s hard drive, Web Beacons are typically embedded on web pages (or in an e-mail).
Our uses of these automated data collection technologies fall into the following general categories:
- Operationally Necessary. This includes technologies that allow you access to our Services, applications, and tools that are required to identify irregular site behavior, prevent fraudulent activity and improve security or that allow you to make use of our functions such as shopping-carts, saved search, or similar functions;
- Performance Related. We may use technologies to assess the performance of our Services, including as part of our analytic practices to help us understand how our visitors use the Services;
- Functionality Related. We may use technologies that allow us to offer you enhanced functionality when accessing or using our Services. This may include identifying you when you sign into our Services or keeping track of your specified preferences, interests, or past items viewed;
- Advertising or Targeting Related. We may use first party or third-party technologies to deliver content, including ads relevant to your interests, on our Services or on Third Party sites.
Information Related to Use of the Services
Our servers automatically record certain information about how a person uses our Services (“Log Data”). Log Data may include information such as a user’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, the web page that a user was visiting before accessing our Services, the pages or features of our Services to which a user browsed and the time spent on those pages or features, search terms, the links on our Services that a user clicked on and other statistics. We use Log Data to administer the Services, and we analyze (and may engage third parties to analyze) Log Data to improve, customize and enhance our Services by expanding their features and functionality and tailoring them to our Users’ needs and preferences. We may use Log Data and other information to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how our Services are used.
Information Sent by Your Mobile Device
We collect certain information that your mobile device sends when you use our Services, like device identifiers, location (see below), user settings and the operating system of your device, as well as information about the use of our Services.
When you use our Services, we may collect and store information about your location by converting your IP address into a rough geo-location or by accessing your mobile devices’ GPS coordinates if you enable location services on your device. We may use location information to improve and personalize our Services. If you do not want us to collect location information, you may disable that feature on your mobile device.
Information from Other Sources
We may obtain information about you from other sources, including through third party services and organizations to supplement information provided by you. For example, if you access our Services through a third-party application, such as an app store, a third-party login service, or a social networking site, we may collect information about you from that third-party application that you have made public via your privacy settings.
